What Bodybuilders Eat For Breakfast w/ Santi Aragon
The Muscle & Strength media team recently traveled down to Miami, FL to meet up with Muscletech athlete and IFBB Pro, Santi Aragon.
While hanging out with Santi, he shared some of his top training and nutrition tips with us.
In this video, Santi joins our hit series “What Pro Athletes Eat for Breakfast”.
See what he eats for his first meal of the day as we welcome him into the M&S Breakfast Club.
Santi Aragon’s Breakfast
In Santi’s breakfast episode, he shows us a meal you can make in just 8 minutes. This particular meal is something he enjoys during his off-season, but it’s set up in such a way that you can alter it to meet your calorie needs no matter what time of year it is.
There’s really no excuse as to why you can’t make a quick healthy breakfast in the morning, and this quick 8 minute breakfast proves that.
Santi begins cooking his breakfast by spraying a pan with Pam and pouring in 14 oz of egg whites. While the egg whites cook, he adds almond milk and berries to his cup of oats before popping it in the microwave for 2 minutes.
If he’s going through contest prep, he’ll cut out calories by subbing the almond milk out for water.
Halfway through cooking his egg whites, Santi adds about an ounce of fat free mozzarella to his eggs. Mozzarella and cheddar are his favorite cheese options to top his eggs. After the cheese has melted slightly, he flips the eggs to form a cheese egg white omelet.
Santi doesn’t season his eggs until after he’s put it on a plate. He’s noticed a difference in his ability to cook the eggs if he seasons them while on a skillet. For seasoning, he’s a huge fan of salt to give him a fuller look.
To finish off his oats, Santi adds in a little bit of sugar free Smuckers syrup. To bump up is own sodium intake, he’ll also add additional salt to his oats.
