Shredded Trainer & Physique Competitor Chris Villa Talks to M&S
What do you love most about lifting and fitness?
Pushing myself daily. Knowing the fact that as days go on I can get better and better and test myself, because at the end of the day that’s all that counts. What I really love about Men’s Physique is that it gives us the chance to present the ideal Physique many look for.
There are so many competitors now so it’s very challenging as everyone brings a totally different package. Last year was the first year of the division it was a huge success. I just cant wait to see the first Pro show and earn my IFBB status with the best of them.
What are your future goals, dreams and plans?
Currently I want to keep expanding in the fitness industry and be known as one of the top fitness models, gracing magazine covers and doing more features and spreads. I also just started my online training and nutritional guidance website which is doing very well now and have numerous clients around the world.
As a personal trainer I look to change people lives the way I did, so in the long run I look to open up gyms, health restaurants and supplement store everywhere including airports. Last but most importantly my goal right now is to turn IFBB Pro in the Men’s Physique division. So I plan on working extremely hard this year and years to come.
Give us some training tips for someone who wants to look good and get ripped?
Its is highly important to make sure you’re on a good diet plan. Cardio is also a big key. Stay active at all times and hit the gym at least 4-5 times a week.
Do you cook daily or cook for the week?
I cook every Sunday and Wednesday night to have food for at least 3 to 4 days. I cook mostly chicken, ground turkey, tilapia, flank steak. I mostly cook more chicken then anything else I could never get tired of it.
I also prepare a few sweet potatoes, asparagus, spinach. I like to cook a few things that I know that will last a decent amount of time and know what my body likes especially during contest time.
What are your favorite cheat meals and foods?
I can’t live without any type of nut butter. Anything that has peanut butter in it is my addiction. I also have ice cream, pizza, sushi and Thai food.
What are some of your favorite supplements and why?

Do you have any tips for someone who is looking to compete in physique?
Give it 110%. This division give everyone the opportunity to compete. Just remember to bring a good presence on stage. Choose wisely on the color shorts you want to wear. Remain humble no matter what happens. As my coaches from Dizel prep would say, Shelly, Betsy, Josh and John: enjoy yourself and have fun.
Which sports teams do you root for?
I’m a big Giants fan. Yes we just won the Superbowl. Huge Knicks fan and huge Mets fan.
Major accomplishments in your sport:
Qualified for National level at my first show. Rankings goe as follows: Atlantic States placed 3rd, Team Universe placed 3rd, USA placed 6th, North Americans placed 8th and Nationals placed 16th.
