Road to The 2016 Arnold with Brett Kahn – Episode I
What does it take to prepare for one of the biggest shows of the season?
In this series we’re going to take you behind the scenes with IFBB Physique Pro Brett Kahn to show you how he manages business, life, and competition.
We kick things off 7 weeks out from the 2016 Arnold Classic. Brett’s wrapping up his day working in a busy chiropractic office.
He makes time for a quick pre-workout snack before heading to an evening gym session.
Now, pre-workout nutrition is important for everyone. But as a Type 1 diabetic, Brett must monitor his food intake extra closely. His insulin dosing depends on the amount of carbs he consumes at each meal. Brett checks his blood sugar about 10 times per day.
With his nutrition in check, Brett takes a quick call from his contest coach before heading into the gym.
It’s back day which means Brett’s crushing different row variations and lat pulldowns.
Back at home, Brett relies on the convenience of frozen meal prepped foods. After working all day, training hard, and with cardio still on deck, he doesn’t have time to cook each day.
In fact, Brett’s best advice is to do the work in advance when you can. Meal prep on Sundays, arrange your breakfast the night before, and set yourself up for diet success.
